Dr. Michelle Griffiths is recognized as the first Chief Medical Officer (CMO) of Nairobi City County, a pioneering role created to strengthen the county’s public health leadership and regulatory oversight. She was appointed under Governor Johnson Sakaja’s administration as part of the county’s executive restructuring.
Role & Responsibilities
a)Position: First Chief Medical Officer of Nairobi City County.
b)Mandate: Oversight of medical services, public health policy, and healthcare facilities across the county.
c)Strategic Focus:
Improving healthcare delivery systems.
Coordinating medical facilities and wellness programs.
Strengthening regulatory compliance and quality assurance in county hospitals.
