DR. SABUNI

Dr. Sabuni Zephania Alex is Veterinarian and the current Managing Director/CEO of the Kenya Veterinary Vaccines Production Institute (KEVEVAPI), where he leads vaccine research, production, and livestock health initiatives. He is recognized for advancing veterinary science in Kenya and was awarded the Veterinarian of the Year by the Kenya Veterinary Association in 2015.   

Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine – University of Nairobi (2006)  
Master’s in Applied Veterinary Parasitology – University of Nairobi (2009)  
Ph.D. in Veterinary Medicine Specialized in vaccine production and disease control     
He further Trained in Dairy & farm management, pandemic preparedness, environmental audits, monitoring & evaluation, science leadership   

Contributions to Veterinary Science

Vaccine Development : Oversees production of safe, effective, and affordable veterinary vaccines for Kenya and beyond.  
Disease Control: Leads research and surveillance programs to combat livestock diseases.  
Capacity Building: Provides training and technical support to veterinary professionals.  
Livelihood Protection : Focuses on integrated pest management, drought disaster mitigation, and livestock health.
