Dr. Deborah Mlongo Barasa  the Cabinet Secretary for Environment, Climate Change and Forestry has been instrumental in Kenya's environmental and climate change initiatives. As the Cabinet Secretary for Environment, Climate Change and Forestry, she has been at the forefront of efforts to achieve the 15 billion Trees Initiative by 2032, with significant progress made in the last two years. Her leadership has also been focused on the Integrated Natural Resource Program, which has allocated Ksh33.8 billion to support forest conservation in ten counties, including Trans Nzoia. Dr. Barasa has been actively involved in community engagement and rallying residents to embrace climate change mitigation measures. Her work has not only improved waste management but also enhanced pollution enforcement through the National Environment Management Authority (NEMA). Under her guidance, Kenya has advanced science-based adaptation measures, focusing on drought preparedness and flood mitigation. Dr. Barasa's efforts are aimed at c
