Public Health Specialist with a specialization in Vaccinology
Dr. Rose Jalang’o is a distinguished Public Health Specialist with a specialization in Vaccinology. She currently serves as the Head of the National Vaccines and Immunization Program in Kenya, where she has been instrumental in advancing global public health and improving population health. Her work includes the planning, introduction, and roll-out of new vaccines, such as the Malaria Pilot vaccine, HPV vaccine, Meningitis A vaccine, Yellow Fever, Measles, and Rubella vaccines. Dr. Jalang’o has also been a key figure in coordinating vaccines safety and pharmacovigilance, including adverse events monitoring and reporting. She has played a pivotal role in formulating and reviewing health policies and strategies, such as the Kenya Immunization Policy and the Kenya Immunization Strategic Plan. Dr. Jalang’o is a thought leader, expert advisor, trainer, lecturer, scientific author, and subject matter expert in the field of Vaccinology. Her achievements include leading the biennial International Conference on Typhoid and Other Invasive Salmonelloses and championing the immunization agenda through various health policies and strategies.
