Dr Kibor K. Keitany
Anatomic Pathologist, healthcare leader and specialist in Diagnostic Surgical Pathology
Dr Kibor K. Keitany is an Anatomic Pathologist, healthcare leader and specialist in Diagnostic Surgical Pathology, currently working at The Moi Teaching and Referral Hospital (MTRH) and Moi University, Eldoret Kenya.
He did his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBChB) at Moi University & holds a Master of Medicine (M.Med) in Anatomic Pathology from The Aga Khan University. He also holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Nephropathology from the International Society of Nephropathology (ISN).
Dr Keitany is actively involved in routine histopathology cancer diagnosis, cancer research and education. His main interest has been towards the improvement of laboratory cancer diagnosis and local establishment of novel cancer laboratory tests like Immunohistochemistry (IHC) for breast, lung sarcoma, lymphoma and colon cancers and molecular tests like EGFR for NSCLC that aim to strengthen personalized medicine and precision oncology within the country.
He has been part of a team that developed National specimen handling guidelines to standardize the pathology handling of cancer surgical resection specimens and is currently engaged in the postgraduate Anatomic Pathology fellowship training as Faculty under College of Pathology East, Central and Southern Africa (COPECSA).
He is an active member of The Kenya Medical Association (KMA) and The Kenya Association of Clinical Pathologists (KACP).
